      Micro focus on short term revenue - blind to market needs and product quality

      Pros

      Many talented employees. Compensation is not bad.

      Cons

      Employees are not seen as an asset - staffing levels are far below what is required for the expected results. The blame for not meeting goals is placed on the employees. No investment in innovation - The basic plan is to buy up competitors to remove the need to address the market needs for innovative , quality and cost effective products.

      Pros

      Family atmosphere. Promotes a fun, team oriented working environment. Rapidly growing. Many employees who have worked at this company for many years. Clean work environment.

      Cons

      This organization was recently purchased by a larger "publically traded" company. Upper management is more concerned with making, by any means, production numbers, ("their" bonus), than maintaining the quality of the products or integrity of their methods.

      Pros

      I loved my job, the challenges with it and the people I worked with. I loved building the supplier relationships and the independence to get my job done. I was there for 16 years and wanted to keep my career growing with Ametek.

      Cons

      When department restructuring occurred and I was asked to assume responsibilities of a buyer they were terminating, I was promised promotion to Senior buyer and salary increase. I waited a year and asked multiple times about it, only to be told I wasn't senior buyer material. I was saving the company $90K a year by not replacing the buyer they terminated, I rebuilt damaged supplier relationships and corrected the errors of the previous buyer with their PO maintenance.
