Pros

The Respiratory department strives to provide quality patient care and gives time to achieve that. If you have religious belief system, it is acceptable to pray with you patients. The hospital as a whole is working at lowering mistakes through risk masters and does follow through for the most part. They encourage education.

Cons

The current upper management creates drama when there is inner departmental conflicts. Either they give it too much attention or not enough. Lots of favoritism.

Pros

Work - life balance was very good with my job. PTO was amazing even for new hires but when they changed it recently, the people who were there longer were not happy as they have the same PTO with the new hire and could not accumulate PTO hours. Tuition reimbursement. Socialization. Respect for religious beliefs. Insurance is good, standard PPO.

Cons

I was hired when it was still Alexian Brothers and when it merged into AMITA, so many changes and there was little back up from management. If you are not the favorite, then your voice does not matter. No proper compensation for extra service, lower salary compared to other health systems, raise is negligible. Lack of direction from management. So many unanswered questions from employees but continue to fall on deaf ears. Promotion is not merit based but who you know. It used to be a good company but bigger does not mean always better.

Pros

New joint organization is really trying hard to be support the overall organization mission, vision, and values. The leadership values their mission in healthcare and all genuinely want to make a difference in the lives of the people within the community they are within.

Cons

1. Leadership is dated, many of them need to be more open to new ideas and working together instead of just everyone for themselves, and CYA-ing defensively all the time 2. Parent organization needs to be more supportive, open and collaborative with AMITA as their new venture 3. Education needs to be at the forefront of this ever changing healthcare industry 4. Rewards and recognition is minimal
