Pros

5 reasons you should work at AMLI, or at least apply to an open role you may be interested in. 1) AMLI refreshingly proves the culture- walks the walk but doesn't really advertise enough about the unique and fun work environment. The people here really care about you as a whole person, and it shows through interactions at all levels. Executives will remember small details about your life, even if they only see you twice a year, and coworkers will call to ask for advice on a task/project or just to check in and see how you are. 2) You can stand out quickly at both site and corporate levels. Leasing professionals can quickly scale up in rank and commissions if they're great sales people. Proving your value is key, and both new hires and veterans are valued if they perform. 3) There are many opportunities to develop professionally, whether through company classes, or sponsored industry certifications. This helps you with personal growth despite the reality that AMLI isn't a massive company, and often there are limited open positions within a region. If you're looking to get promoted you have opportunities nationally though, if you're open to relocation. 4) Generous (compared to the industry) on-site living discounts at any property, and nearly any floorplan. These discounts are offered on a percentage basis, which helps if you need a larger floorplan (spouse, kids, pets, ect). 5) As a 100% owner/operator AMLI is focused on principled profit- it has to manage expenses and drive rent growth, but not at the cost of employee or resident experience (within reason). There is also a big focus on corporate responsibility and sustainability, which are not just empty words on a website. AMLI teams do yearly volunteering activities, food/supply drives, and recycling contests. There is a reason employee retention is so high- it's hard to find a similar experience at another multifamily company. If you're considering it, you should apply!

Cons

The concept of teamwork is very much applied here. It does lead to 'red tape' with decision making, and often can limit the ability to get a quick answer or approval. You may feel sometimes like you can't move forward on something without multiple people signing off.

Pros

Onsite teams are all great people to work with.

Cons

While the onsite teams are all great to work with, everyone is burnt out and understaffed. I don't see any urgency to make any changes to help any time soon. There is no longer any room for growth. If this is something you want for yourself I wouldn't recommend.
