Pros

Many opportunities to transfer and move around, even nationally. Management does their best.

Cons

IFT after IFT in some places EMT’s are basically drivers and there to fill out paperwork. Belittled often by other medical care workers/FD.

Pros

- Free training/certification opportunities - Picking up shifts or more hours is easy - 911 experience (if applying for 911 AMR branch)

Cons

- Company isn't resetting any trends for poor EMS payment or work-life balance - Bad work-life balance - Schedule can be brutal until enough senority is acquired; not much flexibility with management - Susceptible to burnout/overwork for self, coworkers, and managers - Not much appreciation, payment, or reward for the long hours and hard work.
