Business Outlook
Pros
1) They are progressive when it comes to EMS. 2) They encourage Paramedics to be clinicians as opposed to techs. 3) The pay is pretty good. Not quite great yet, but pretty damn good. 4) Experience. You get a lot of it. A year of DeKalb 911 is like 3 years in most other areas.
Cons
1) Pay could still be a little better. 2) They don't honor educational prowess. So if you have any of your board certifications or any degrees, you don't get any expanded scope of practice nor is your pay increased. 3) Their Education Reimbursement program stops st the Paramedic certification/license. They don't support us getting degrees or board certs.
