Pros

The only positive point would be my chief of training, who was very attentive and pleasant to deal with.

Cons

If you're considering working for AMR, think twice—especially if you have medical needs or expect fair treatment. My time at AMR was cut short after I requested to work only day shifts due to my astigmatism, which makes night driving unsafe. Instead of accommodating me, they fired me. Beyond that, the training was abysmal. My Field Training Officer (FTO) was openly discriminatory, creating a hostile learning environment instead of helping me develop the skills I needed. Instead of addressing the issue, management ignored it—just like they ignore most concerns unless they benefit them. This company preaches about being a leader in EMS, but in reality, they treat employees as disposable. Training is inconsistent, schedules are brutal, and management is useless. If you’re not willing to sacrifice your well-being for their bottom line, expect retaliation. If you want to build a career in EMS where you're respected and properly trained, look elsewhere. AMR isn’t worth the stress.

Pros

Has a lot of opportunity for overtime.

If your commute to station is too long, working overtime can be rough.
