Pros

Flexible scheduling, can pick 8hr or 12hr shifts you choose; have never had the problem of not having enough shifts Drove IFT calls so it can get monotonous but good clinical experience Paid training Opportunity to cross train at other hospitals or do 911 in NJ

Cons

The occasional mean partner lol Lack of continued training Again, monotony Be prepared to run overtime often

Pros

The pay is the best part. It's not enough to own a home in the Bay Area but it is enough to get by while going to school.

Cons

There are a lot of old paramedics who hate their lives and are miserable. They want to make sure everyone else is just as miserable. If It wasn't for those paramedics I would have considered continuing a career in EMS.
