Pros

Great county to work in along with great experience

Cons

Poor pay and unreliable equipment/trucks, High call volume and the system is severely understaffed. Could use at least two additional trucks for the amount of area we cover.

Pros

Large company, many smaller divisions within Generally strong equipment and decent rigs Meet lots of people in the industry, some career with AMR and some working in multiple environments Excellent opportunity to build street experience

Cons

It's a national mega-conglomerate Your experience will vary dramatically depending on what division/location you're in Contracts are in such flux that it's challenging to build a career on this side of the industry EMT pay is not career-sustaining -- use as a stepping stone or become a paramedic

Cons

Overall poor moral; high EMT turnover; little to no patient care as an EMT unless (rarely) put on BLS truck; unprofessional employees; can be hard with bad partner
