      not being under micromanaged, 911 calls only

      Benefits are terrible. If in Collin County TX you will have a terrible supervisor who will only care about making his superiors happy. Dont think about making new suggestions to the format they have implanted. If a new or experienced EMT-B or EMT-P i would highly suggest looking elsewhere. I requested a new uniform due to stains caused by the job and was asked why...? Not the worst job but if it still under the supervision of the same person i would not suggest it.

      Pros

      Lots of opportunities for overtime. Great place to earn and learn a lot of experience. Great management that does what they can to keep the line medics happy.

      Cons

      Very fast paced system with lots of "patients" using the ambulance for a taxi and the ED for a primary care doctor.

      Pros

      AMR has a very promising future with the rapid changes in healthcare. The recent acquistion has solidified their position as #1.

      Cons

      Difficulties advancing without moving to Dallas or Denver. Pay could be a bit better for the job title. Very lean organization so every employee wears multiple hats.
