      Used to be a good employer but swiftly going downhill

      Pros

      Some good colleagues to work with. Reasonable benefits. Variety of sectors and clients to work with. Some scope for career progression and moving around the company.

      Cons

      Management are practically invisible and extremely top heavy. Deceitful when managing bad news and handling restructure. Don't care about employees, just about making money. Retention is not important to them. Long hours and never a thank you for going above and beyond in busy periods. Little interaction between departments which can inhibit progressing with projects and getting to know clients. Internal stakeholders act as a barrier to the end client. Mass exodus of good people meaning diminished team morale.

      Great PR & Marketing, doesn't live up to the hype

      Pros

      Blue chip client base although tend to favor larger corporate clients. More recent diversity in client base. Often have large volume hire clients. Can travel internationally in some instances.

      Cons

      Very cliquey atmosphere,your face must fit and you must toe the corporate line. Work-life balance needs attention. Lots of travel and working outside of core hours with no extra compensation. Over complicated career structure with debatable annual performance reviews. Middle/senior managers out of touch with reality due to glossy presentations from managers. Tendency to promote good recruiters versus those that can/do manage.

      Great Holidays, Salaries and Bonus's Low - Lack of Leadership

      Pros

      Great team to work in, i worked within AMS's RPO division on-site at a US Investment Bank in Canary Wharf, people i worked with were fab, hours were ok, lots of holidays if you buy holidays as well.

      Cons

      Bonus's very poor, if you are joining AMS for the money don't bother, base was ok, but if i worked in an agency i would have earned at least double my base in bonus's given the number of direct hires i made. Too much change, as AMS are an RPO people move from account to account on a regular basis, lack of local leadership. Also working for an RPO on site you don't command the same respect as an in-house team.
