Pros

- The people are fantastic. Some of the smartest, hardest working folks you'll ever meet. - The products are cool and the manufacturing is top-notch.

Cons

- The CEO micromanages everyone, goes on temper-tantrums where he'll fire someone just to make himself feel better, and consistently makes everyone around him miserable. - CEO tries to control the company through fear.

Thank you for your post. I'm glad that you have found many positive things to highlight especially when it comes to our people who are our biggest asset and make our products top-notch. We believe that with a company this size and on a growth path to continue to bring in top talent and make even cooler products as you mentioned, the CEO is engaged in the evolution of the product and is indeed involved in offering his advice and 25 + years of expertise to take the product to the next level. We can certainly learn from your advice and allowing our teammates to be creative and have the flexibility to make decisions autonomously. - Posed on behalf of the APCON Leadership Team.

Growing fast, great teams

Pros

Apcon is growing incredibly fast, and they're pretty particular about who works here. If you do your job, make an effort to be a part of the team, and can handle some bureaucracy, it's an excellent place to be. - Benefits are awesome. Good 401Ks, excellent insurance, plus a solid amount of PTO and company events - Relaxed environment for the most part. No one is constantly looking over your shoulder or micromanaging - Happy hours. Every Friday there are drinks and games in the break room, plus random ping pong matches. We also all go out to eat together and try new restaurants for lunch on Fridays - Equipment. If you need something, just put in a request form. I haven't had a single piece of equipment or software denied yet. - Management is awesome. It was a little disorganized when I first started, but recent hierarchy changes have improved the decision making process a ton. Things are running smoothly. Overall, I've enjoyed working here and I look forward to helping Apcon grow.

Cons

There are still some remnants of old-school practices. Some of the IT architecture and technology is outdated and slow. This is improving slowly, but for now it's still kind of a hassle. Some practices, like working remotely could still use some work. It can be pretty strict at times when it comes to not being in the office. This is slowly changing for the better, but it would be nice to have more relaxed remote requirements.
