Low Pay, Stepping Stone for Next Career Move
Pros
Everything depends on the department your work for and your direct manager. My manager was flexible and provided me the good work life balance. During my tenure I was able to take a lot of professional development courses to further my career goals, especially since I was limited in my trajectory at ASAE. good benefits.
Cons
LOW LOW PAY! They are not competitive even though they will say they are. Not a lot of opportunity for growth. It's a very flat organization and top heavy. The people at the top have been there for 20+ years and they have kept the same ideas and culture with them. It was extremely hard to join new projects, the work groups were often formed in secrecy with the same people (no matter their expertise) participating. Leadership opportunities and promotions seem to given to young white men and women. The culture of the organization was pale, male and stale and more work need to be done for diversity, equity and inclusion.
