      ASM America, Great for single veterans

      Pros

      As a US Veteran, ASM provides a great introduction to the semiconductor manufacturing industry and the major players within the business. With no prior experience within the installation of their products, the organization trusted my skillsets obtained within the military to complete numerous installation projects. Decent pay Great Health Benefits Flexible Schedule Talented People Lots of overtime

      Cons

      The amount of travel associated with the position was not proportioned correctly amongst the installation engineers, which led to exhaustion and employee dissatisfaction. Smaller Company Not much space to move up Training needs work Excessive Travel for position

      Great compensation and freedom, but lacks systems engineering

      Pros

      I worked at many companies before. ASM is at the top of the list for my compensation package. There is a lot of freedom for lots of stuff. This is an advantage. But at the same time, it can be distracting too. The current CEO seems to be an expert in process engineering, which is great.

      Cons

      Systems engineering is absent in ASM. This is not a good sign for a matured company. Look at ASML. They make the most complicated machine made by humans on earth. That's not by accident. ASM is the parent company for them. Sometimes ASM meets quality by shooting in the dark! Not by well designed quality process. This has to come from the top level like CEO level.

      Great learning opportunities but long night shifts
