Pros

- Large-org name and resources - Variety of people, projects and needs: each day is different - Lots of flexibility to suggest new programs and approaches - Great salary and benefits - Everyone loves animals - Pet-related benefits - Many positions allow work from home, at least part-time - Actively pursuing DEI initiatives - Annual staff happiness survey is acted on and shows improvement each year

Cons

- Bureaucracy: things need to be reviewed by many people/depts, etc. - Work/life balance: partly b/c we love the work, many of us work long hours - Quality of the experience depends a lot on your department and boss - DEI is not yet up to speed enough

Pros

Helping animals, PTO and flexible schedule

Cons

Mandating a vaccine for staff who work remotely at home and do not interact with anyone is ridiculous. Being discriminated against for saying no to an experimental vaccine got me fired. Hard to get the schedule you want, unless you are employed for years.
