Pros

I have been working at the A for about 9 years and have seen the organization grow and evolve over the years. I enjoy the intense work environment, both on the research and marketing side (which is where my professional role lies) but also on the animal care side through my experiences as a staff member who has been deployed to several natural disasters as well as large-scale criminal seizures and adoption events. I appreciate the organization’s focused mission – to protect animals most at-risk – and the fact that the A sets a priority on developing and supporting its staff. The work culture at the A is inspiring, fast-paced and challenging- all important qualities in an effective non-profit and I feel lucky to have the opportunity to contribute in the small way that I can.

Cons

Occasional work/like balance issues but I also acknowledge and appreciate the sense of urgency that the organization has embedded in its culture.
