Pros

It is a fast paced company with job roles that are always changing. There is a lot of room for growth and advancement if you are willing to relocate. My experience with management is very good towards Work/life Balance and allows me to put family first. Of course the actual times you need to do this should be minimal, but when it does I have no problems what so ever.

Cons

The compesation is a little of the low side. I am not sure if other companies are the same but it is very tight-fisted here. A review of my position put me in a salary range I am not meeting for the last two years by thousands of dollars. If it were not for the very generous and flexible time off I would have left long ago. Others are having the same issues as far a pay is concerned. Communication is often OK at best. The running joke is ATT stands for At This Time because everything is always changing. It seems like a lot of wasted effort at the time to me. In the company defense I am on the lower rung of managment, so I do not have access to all the information.

Pros

Benefits. I started in quite a few years ago so we had good health, dental, vision plans, 401k, Pension and 28 days off per year plus 2 wireless plans at no cost.

Cons

Benefits are going downhill after Cingular began integrating with AT&T. Health is worse now, 401k a little worse now and days off policy and increments are changing. The base compensation is the worst part though. Cingular/AT&T base salaries are very unfair compared to other companies. Also, if you start out low, it will take 20 years to reach a decent base salary as they yearly increments are only 3% (sometimes much more based on Manager approval).

Pros

The corporate culture, while the company may be HUGE (300,000+ employees and a global presence) the leadership is still empowered to treat their organizations/employees with a personal touch. like a smaller company would. Tough decisions have to made but the execution is fair.

Cons

Legacy...systems, leadership, unwritten rules. Adoption of change can be tough on anyone but sometimes enable ourselves to resist it unnecesarily.
