Pros

Nice office even if it is in the middle of nowhere. Casual dress code. Amazing food. Mostly cool people. Actually, one of the most talented groups of people I have ever met. Everyone is an artist, musician, photographer, etc. The customer service team is amazing. Do not envy them at all. Despite being awesome they don't seem to get treated very well. They are sort of exiled to their own part of the building.

Cons

It is easy to get drawn into the company with the beautiful office, free lunches and silicon valley appearance. However, after a few months it becomes pretty obvious why there are so many negative reviews. I typically shy away from Glassdoor reviews but reading them now it is amazing how accurate some of them are. Especially the older ones. As others have mentioned, during meetings the HR team pleads with people to write positive reviews. This always felt a bit dirty to me. Feel like reviews should come organically and not from people begging you to do it. They are probably begging people because of the crazy high turn over rate. I was warned about this by the recruiter before starting but wasn't prepared for 90% of the people I work closely with leaving in the span of a few weeks. That isn't an exaggeration either sadly. There is a massive amount of tech debt that they don't really mention during the interview process. You really only get exposed to it after getting hired on. Had a very contentious relationship with some of the management. They are often very abrasive and often make poor moral decisions. There is a history of mass firings which leads to some people often worrying about their jobs. Again, I'd read some of the older reviews as they are fairly accurate in this case.

Pros

- The company truly invests in and cares about employee happiness, work-life balance, and development - Team members are encouraged to work on projects that we find engaging - Many technical problems to solve and we are empowered to solve them - A highly collaborative, team based approach to all engineering practices - Practices and processes are open to change and evolution - Project timelines and implementation planning are team driven - The Executive team (CEO, CTO, etc) are engaged while not being overbearing or micro-managers - Employees are encouraged to be thought leaders, public speakers, open source contributors, and to attend relevant conferences - All the perks you read about on their site, in the news, etc

Cons

- The organization is still dealing with a large amount of technical and cultural debt from previous technical leadership and groupthink - Current technical processes can be cumbersome and demotivating though efforts are underway to revise, simplify and streamline. - Projects take too long due to the amount of technical debt and process overhead

Pros

The place is packed with quirky, highly intelligent, friendly, motivated people. There's no shortage of opportunity to learn about new technologies and stay abreast of current industry trends. The core product is somewhat dated, but interesting to work on nonetheless, and various efforts are underway to bring it up to date. Work hours are quite reasonable. On top of that, the company offers excellent perks like free gourmet lunches, high end computers and tools, game rooms, opportunities for paid volunteer work, support of local tech meet ups, and the like.

Cons

Bewildering array of technologies requires a steep learning curve. The office is a little far from downtown Philadelphia. The company is going through some growth pains as senior management tries to figure out how to tackle the organizational and product issues.
