There are a lot of opportunities at AbbVie, and some of the happiest people I know are AbbVie employees. Pay and benefits are good (although being quietly reduced as of late).

Cons

Someone high up in HR once told our team that “AbbVie is a Midwest company, so it is passive aggressive.” It is notoriously difficult to fire people, so the trash gets passed around from department to department with no accountability. There are many departments with extremely toxic cultures and people-leaders. You might get lucky, you might not.

AbbVie is ran like a “mom and pop”. Processes aren’t well thought out. There is no mobility. Managers/Directors lack leadership skills. Promote Managers with terrible engagement scores.
