      Good salary and benefits, culture of fear

      Very good salary and benefits

      Cons

      After multiple rounds of layoffs remaining workforce is stretched to get work done (e.g. not good for work/life balance.) Culture of fear in that if you don't put out over and above effort your job may be cut. Strategy changes often so must be willing and able to change gears and not get to see the fruits of your labors of implementing last month's strategy. Very hard to get things done due to legal, regulatory, and funding approvals and understaffing in support groups. Lots of employees end up going out on medical leave…..stress-related?

      Pros

      Large fortune 100 company. Many nice people willing to help you out. Dallas, Texas headquarters, need I say more?

      Cons

      Your performance is measured against a lot of metrics much of which is out of your control. Company is performance driven by by these arbitrary metrics. Hospitalization is expensive, and coinsurance is as well. The training is terrible, and you will be left hanging in front of customers as you learn how to fix instruments on the fly. Typical corporate culture, focus is strictly on earnings and shareholders. Your everyday tools are outdated, especially your handheld device to close calls. You'll spend many hours needlessly waiting on software.

      Pros

      There are good people here that are trying really hard, benefits, pension, 401K, annual bonus all good.

      Cons

      Not much respect, Lousy mid level management, poor communication, no marketing visibility, not allowed to attend trade shows. Not allowed to observe clinical's, poor physical work environment.....
