Annual raise is based on events out of control and if you're a worker, you're screwed; manager's aren't affected. Because of layoffs and unrealistic goals creating hiring freezes; expect to stay at whatever position you're in until you're let go or find another job elsewhere. Certainly not the company they used to be. Profits are great but doesn't show in non-managers salary raises. True practitioners of the "trickle-down" theory when it comes to raises.

Salaries are nearly frozen, no bonuses or retirement plan if hired after a certain date, however managers get all the perks the non-exempt staff does not. Ridiculously low raises (1-2% if one gets it at all), low starting pay compared to even other divisions of Abbott; emphasis is on production and not on patient safety during installations and frantic scheduling, low moral hence the need for "team building".
