Witless Wonders

Pros

Decent restaurants and shopping close by, Old Town Temecula is close enough to visit during a lunch break. That's about it.

Cons

Management totally sucks. The biggest bunch of witless worms led by an unethical slug and his progeny that consist mainly of ineffective paranoid brown-nosers. Rats, (as in rodents), frequently are spotted in the administrative buildings and are addressed without any sense of urgency. As are gas leaks. With frequent and regular large layoffs, morale is low and any good people that remain are in the process of jumping ship. Abbott picked up a perfectly good, functioning company, implanted their management and drove it into the ground. As there is no longer any R&D, there is no future. Don't bank on picking up new companies to save them as they aren't any good at integrating them into the quality system.

Pros

Great salaries and benefits; compensation is in-line with most Fortune 500 companies; there is profit-sharing if company hits sales targets; a gym and cafeteria are conveniently on-site.

Cons

Very top-heavy upper management that is extremely isolated from the rest of the employees; Often hostile work environment; ideas that are not generated from the top are often ignored or squelched. Lots of silos within the company with little or no team cooperation.

Pros

Gym on site Company shuts down over the holidays

Cons

Lack of leadership and paralysis in management decision making has led to a total breakdown in employee morale. Layoffs are expected on a quarterly basis leading to complete disengagement of employees. Most of the younger people are hoping for a severance package in the next round of layoffs and the older people are just hoping to hold out until their retirement kicks in. Murky horizon for new R&D projects and declining sales in vascular products has squeezed out much of the talent in all divisions of the company. Hierarchical structure of company coupled with highly politicized in-fighting between groups has eliminated project collaboration and restricted innovation. The attitude throughout management is a complete lack of accountability for the direction of the company.
