Think before you leap into the company

Pros

There are a lot of people in this company who care about the products they design. Oftentimes, they will be so impassioned as to argue with senior management.

Cons

Senior management doesn't care AT ALL what designers are stating. It is ALL about launching a product so they can get bonuses. Then, technical support is left holding the bag. Saw it WAY too many times.

Pros

Challenging work and great long term benefits (pension & RSU's) Relatively good opportunities for promotion and cross divisional opportunities (although it's gotten less in the last 10 years as divisions have started to get more protective of their employees and prevented them from moving to other divisions)

Cons

As with many large, publicly owned companies there is always an expectation for immediate results that often distract leaders from looking down the road to anticipate the changing business landscape. It's become harder and harder in the last 10 years to find developmental opportunities for those with potential.
