Pros
• Employee body truly cares about the mission of the agency • Spending time with the individuals that receive services from the agency always makes the days better • Great medical and other benefits (tuition reimbursement, PTO, paid holidays, employee appreciation days, early leave on certain holidays, etc.) • Flexibility when needed, great work/life balance • Challenging work and opportunities for continuing education • Upper management is nice • Diverse body of staff, and everyone is respectful/celebrates the diversity of staff • Feels like you are making a positive difference for vulnerable people every day
Cons
• Not a lot of opportunities for promotion/raises (especially for non-union staff), but it is a non-profit so take that into consideration • High turnover of DSP staff due to compensation • A few departments seem perpetually short-staffed
