Exciting environment, bad career move

Pros

The working environment is a textbook example of what many look for: espresso machines, kicker, ping-pong, somewhat (but not fully) flexible time, space visually designed for creativity, many fun activities. Most importantly for many, the product itself is top-notch and has a great reputation, so there is a feeling of contributing to something of value.

Cons

Salaries are below average even for Berlin. Career advancement is next to non-existent. Shifts in direction or process are frequent and often mandated from above without much in the way of justification.

Great environment, poor HR/salary

Pros

It's exciting and rewarding to work with a great, market-leading product. The work environment is very good, and most colleagues are extremely capable.

Cons

Ableton is terrible at HR. The salaries are below even Berlin average, while they are still very picky with hires; and once you're in, there is very little career support or advancement opportunity.
