Pros

Training was amazing. Upon hiring the standard to which we treated the client was OK. The work load was reasonable. The pay was bottom for market rate but enjoyed the work.

Cons

Management became chaotic and unreasonable with metric increasing high demands with time. The quality of the work suffered but there was no care for that really. It felt there was a top to bottom unreasonable expectation of work load that would end up on our shoulders and then no raises or even so much as any acknowledgement of meeting standard happened when so many of us were ABOVE standard. The firm obtained a larger overseas team to do lots of our work which led to more errors. It was clear whatever golden days of ALG were long gone and the direction we were going in was not one I wanted to belong to as a legal professional.

Unprofessional and Spiteful

Pros

The employees they hire have an overall fresh attitude toward being in the legal profession and are easily manipulated and given false hopes of growth and a professional law office environment. There is an overall lack in organization, structure, and professionalism of managers in the Pre-Litigation department. One must fit into a high-school environment that thrives on gossip in the Pre-Litigation Manager's office to be accepted. Then maybe you will grow within the company by being the Pre-Lit Manager's friend. They used to have good snacks but the partners took those away as they were "Not kosher" Parking available on side street where you have to move your car every two hours or you will get a $55.00 ticket. (Out-of-pocket expense)

Cons

Save Yourself: DO NOT WORK HERE Management in Pre-Litigation is run by a spiteful and top-down management approach who makes changes before the former change has even had sufficient time to see any results after being implemented fully. Read other reviews for the metrics driven workload that compels paralegals II's to work overtime to meet numbers that is decided the same day without any concern or regard for ta work-life balance. No work life balance. They simply do not care. Partners approach paralegals job roles as expendable items they CAN and WILL do away with your job despite high performance and desire for professional growth. Recently, they restructured the Pre-Litigation department stating that "If you did not agree you could go elsewhere." Further stating they had "Opportunities for growth" then after a paralegal questioned what opportunities were available, they said "We don't have any now." That paralegal was fired the same week. They do not care and ONLY see your role to pad their pockets. Associate Attorneys get no commission and cases settled. I saw the attorney I worked with settle a case for 65K, he/she saw $0.00 for the work they comeplted, but he/she met their metric.
