Pros

Colleagues are great. Laid back, youthful atmosphere. Excellent benefits and 401k plan. Location is convenient. Rapidly growing business.

Cons

Management is not at all mindful of workload. Training is insufficient. Staff members are treated like students rather than professionals. Little-to-no upward mobility. Rapidly growing business.

Pros

Very technology-oriented, innovative, resourceful, helpful, youthful, friendly & competent staff engaged with industry (its own & clients'), technology & methodologies. Culture emphasizes constant technological advancement & innovation with the latest technology being at least analyzed, often tested & possibly used depending on your start-up self-initiative. Self-initiative & ambitiousness determine your success here with every possible technological edge desired to stay competitive in a crowded market, both in terms of NYC, SoHo start-ups, & e-commerce.

Cons

Their contract forbids disclosing cons so. I say for myself that I dislike very long hours, high-stress/high-pressure/defensive environment, very few & non-negotiable vacation days & no sick days/floating holidays.

High stress, low reward

Pros

Free bagels on Friday. Most coworkers are good people who do their best to help you out. Great location.

Cons

Salary is VERY far below the market average. Few vacation days (if you can even manage to take one given how busy you'll be). Subpar benefits. Code base is huge, messy, outdated, and hard to understand. Employees are forced to track their time and what they do during that time. If you want to grow as a developer, Acadaca is NOT a place you want to be. Although they write software, it is NOT a tech-first company. There is no shiny new tech to learn. You will be stuck learning skills, tools, and practices nobody in the marketplace has needed since 2010 at best. There is not much potential for growth within the company either.
