Great place to start your career, but if you do not plan to make SE, get out as soon as you can
Pros
1) Friendly, fun, non-pretentious people - many of my coworkers have become my personal friends over the years 2) Learning opportunities - since Accenture is so huge, there are virtually limitless learning opportunities...people who complain getting "stuck" doing something are typically not fight hard enough for their careers 3) Great managers (note: not leaders) - Accenture is a great place if you want to learn to become a great manager...and spend the rest of your career as a mid level manager
Cons
1) Too much politics - one Senior Manager (who spent his entire career in the firm) termed it "people-alignment". Well-known fact among employees..."find your 'Tree' and hold on to him / her". Without a clique / sponsor, it's impossible to get great opportunities, promotions etc. 2) Localized business model - There are always 2 levels of decisions: Global and Local office. More often than not these levels of decisions are totally independent of each other, even conflicting. Transferring offices to get a better chance in terms of project assignments or promotions are actually common, which shows the discrepancy between the "Global" vs. "Local" practices.
