Pros

The work is meaningful, employees are talented and motivated to do well

Cons

If you want to be successful, you'd better be ready to play office politics and win the popularity contest. If you don't, well, good luck to you. Highly likely the new CEO was brought in to polish the company up to sell, so it may not exist much longer anyway.

Pros

Accuray pays its employees decently for the area, and many employees enjoy a flexible hybrid schedule. People here are mature, keep things professional, and have a good work-life balance. Attempt at measuring workload is sincere, meaning that when there are little resources on a project, that shows on reporting tools, and management responds appropriately, either by setting the due dates further back, or adding additional resources.

Cons

Accuray's culture is very structured, since it needs to be for manufacturing, meaning that communication can be often slow (taking many days/weeks to respond), and require a certain level of political play. Teams are often smaller than you'd expect, especially with the recent 15% employee layoff, meaning that deadlines are often missed. Cybersecurity had a tough time enforcing its processes on other teams due to resources being spent on higher-priority tasks.

We’re glad to hear you appreciated the compensation, hybrid flexibility, and professional culture. We also appreciate your comments on workload management. We also recognize the challenges you mentioned regarding communication speed, team size, and cross team processes in a regulated environment. These are areas we continue to work on, especially following recent organizational changes. Thank you for your insights, they are helpful as we continue to strengthen our processes.
