Pros

With how many locations there are, you *might* end up with a decent manager.

Cons

You're going to want to read this before you think about working here.... (spoiler: I know the job market is tough, but it's not worth the mental health effects to work here) This company was started in 1950, and it’s still being run like it’s the 50’s. It is Boomer-led, antiquated, filled with nepotism, racism, sexism, misogyny and transphobia. Your first red flag is that one of their values is “Family,” but is more like having thanksgiving dinner with a bunch of racist uncles. They don’t want to hire anyone with tattoo’s, piercings, or colored hair, and openly talk about how trans people are “confusing." They are constantly bringing up politics in the workplace. It’s embarrassing that they call themselves a professional organization, because this is the worst company I have ever worked for. Just check their leadership page online to see not one person of color in a leadership position. There’s no diversity higher up in the company, and hiring managers express that they don’t want to hire “people from the hood” or women for “men’s positions.” They get their diversity awards because all of their line level, minimum wage employees are struggling minorities. This is also the kind of company where if a woman speaks up or stands her ground, the men with fragile masculinity will call her a b****. When it comes to their HR department, they will only do what they are legally required to do and not an OUNCE more. They could not care less about their employees, which is shown by their consistent 100% turnover. The HR leadership (with nepotism) is a joke, evidenced by the fact they can’t keep an HR rep longer than a year. Despite all of this, they will never look inwardly and realize they are the problem, even though they are the common denominator…. The CEO makes millions, takes frequent vacations, while they pay their line-level employees the lowest amount possible, so much so that they need to unionize just to get treated with any dignity. They love to make employees overwork multiple roles with no extra pay, and call it a “training phase” with the notion they will discuss pay bumps later on (spoiler, you will never get a raise for all that extra work). There are no actual performance reviews, KPI’s, or measurements when it comes to evaluating performance. If they simply think you’re not meeting their unrealistic expectations, they will give you the humiliating option of being demoted or fired.

Pros

Great part/full time job especially for a high school or college student/graduate. The hours are very flexible -you can work almost as much or as little as you want, and you can definitely create great opportunities if you are a good worker.

Cons

Valet wouldn't be my top recommendation for any career opportunities, but the company is huge so management or corporate level jobs are always a good option. Also the biggest con is the hiring process has almost no filter, meaning many people who get hired are not great performers.

Pros

Tips are always decent. Easy job that keeps you active.

Cons

It took me 3 years of fighting and working full-time hours to finally obtain "part-time" status. They purposely left me "on call" so that I wouldn't be able to receive benefits. Union; which we pay for, doesn't do anything about it. Luckily I'm still in college and need this job or I would have sued along time ago.
