Pros

Pay, local, system is ok & easy work

Cons

I just got this job last month thanks to a referral let me say the Supervisor is sporadic & bipolar in the way he is with the team. brings his own personal problems and stress to the workplace no one wants to hear about a divorce and let it effect their performance as a boss. He has made some horrible decisions with the Team. Let go of one of the best we had, For unjust reasons… the citizens are aggressive and put hands on you. I’ve been in many altercations myself and witnessed how stressful and dangerous this field is since we have nothing to protect us. Because of the supervisors mistakes we’re all paying for it. This didn't need to happen The supervisor is to afraid to upset the department in anyway and treats it gently we cannot even complain, Ever. he made an unjust decision. Let me get this straight…So we can’t ask for help from Police because we run the risk of losing our jobs if we do so? mismanagement? I can see where the huge turnover rate comes from.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand that changes in scheduling, leadership styles, and the nature of parking enforcement can be challenging, and we recognize that this can create frustration. At ACE, our goal is to maintain a professional and respectful workplace, and we will ensure your comments regarding communication, decision-making, and safety protocols are shared with the appropriate leadership for review. We also recognize that interactions with the public in enforcement roles can at times be difficult. Our teams follow established safety and escalation procedures, and we continue to evaluate ways to support employees in the field. We appreciate you providing your perspective, as it helps us stay informed and continue focusing on clear communication and a consistent work environment.

Valet Captaining is mid

Pros

You manage a team of valets, building supervisory and people-management skills. Constant interaction with guests helps sharpen communication, conflict resolution, and hospitality skills. You meet high-profile guests, executives, or repeat customers, which can open doors to other opportunities. Being in charge of luxury or high-value vehicles builds a reputation for accountability. You’re the point of contact for complaints, logistical issues, or emergencies, which develops quick decision-making skills. Experience as a captain can lead to management roles in hospitality, real estate services, or operations. Every day is different, with a fast-paced, high-energy atmosphere.

Cons

Coordinating a team and keeping guests happy during rushes can be overwhelming. You’re accountable for your team and the cars—any damage or mistakes may fall back on you. Nights, weekends, and holidays are often required, especially at hotels, restaurants, or event venues. While tips can supplement income, base pay and career growth can be limited unless you transition into broader management. If runners underperform, you shoulder the responsibility, even if it wasn’t your direct action.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for your many years of service at ACE. We’re glad to hear that the Valet Captain role has helped you build leadership, communication, and hospitality skills, as these are exactly the kinds of opportunities we want this position to provide. We also recognize the challenges you mentioned, including the pressure of coordinating teams during rushes, the scheduling demands of nights and weekends, and the responsibility Valet Captains carry when issues arise. Your perspective and comments on pay, career growth, and accountability are important, and we are reviewing ways to provide clearer advancement opportunities and better support for captains to lead teams towards success. We appreciate your feedback and remain committed to making the role both rewarding and sustainable for those who take on its responsibilities.
