Pros

Easiest job to get hired for. Flexible days off. Off Holidays. No experience necessary.

Cons

Even though I THOUGHT I was competing for this job/position with my years of experience and managerial positions, I soon realized that experience isn't at all necessary. You get hired at a rate above minimum wage which is fair but as a month goes by, 6 months, then a year... You start to wonder when you get a raise for your hard work and leadership abilities; YOU DON'T! I asked for a cost of living increase and they denied me, saying they were on a "freeze". Also, there are pretty much NO FULL TIME positions but they have you work a 40 hour work week. Then around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and any CAN CAN week (Shoprite) they schedule you off for 2-5 WEEKS at a time NO PAY. No one had told me this when I was hired so when the time came it was utter PANIC and CHAOS. I live on my own so not having income all of a sudden, and unannounced really felt like a slap in the face. The people who work hard get treated the worst. There's no training and management is pretty much nonexistent. The closest thing to a manager during the work day is a Wakefern employee (your Impact Manager). If someone says they don't know how to do something, or they take too long to accomplish a set, then they give it to the people who work the hardest knowing that they'll get it done, and done correctly. No one is held accountable for anything, they just do absolutely nothing all day or spend 8 hours splitting tags. No one knows how to read a planogram, or even read in general. It's actually quite embarrasing to work next to some of these people. They also make you travel and you travel quite far, sometimes 2 hours just one way. They used to put you in a hotel for a week but someone ruined that. And again, instead of him being fired or held accountable (he has family higher in the company), they made everyone else suffer. Also you do get mileage and travel time but you only get what your manager approves and he usually subtracts what HE THINKS your time should be from your actual time. It's a thankless job, and the customers are really mean to you because shopping is the highlight of their day apparently, pathetic. If you are illiterate, incompetent, and/or lazy, then this is the perfect job for you.

Pros

No Pros for this job!!!!!

Cons

When I started it was a great second job was left alone and my schedule was very flexiable then they gave me a new manager and that is when it all ended. Hours was cut in half called me 10 times a day to ask stupid questions and when I didnt answer was told that I was going to be written up and was told I had to check emails hourly even when not working!! Then told me I had to work certain days I informed them the old manager allowed me to work around my full time job and they called my former manager and told them they was wrong and would work on getting them fired!!! Then when I had problems with my tablet I was told that was impossible they was error free and had been for five years even thou IT said the company had only had them for a few months and therefore I was wriiten up!! Final straw was when I was told either quit Acosta or my full time job!!!! Gee guess which one I picked!!!

Pros

You are able to earn paid time off for part time work which wasn't available to my program before the merger, but the accrual is really slow. They use better technology than the other merchandising company I had originally worked for (who was purchased by Acosta). However, I love my coworkers and Unit Manager. I love the people I work with in my locations. They're all wonderful.

Cons

Acosta promised us more work to keep our hours up, but they haven't followed through. They gave me a raise and then cut the raise they gave me when my team was absorbed into the company a year later. They rode us for months about using google hangouts and google plus to communicate with our unit manager and our team and then forced an update through our work tablets that removed the capabilities they pushed us so hard to use. As a part time job, I average about 13 hours a week. I usually make about $400 a month at this job. Which is sad compared to the $1000 I used to make a month with Mosaic. I can no longer support myself with this job. This is not just my experience. My entire team will vouch for this (36+ reps on my team, alone). I wish Acosta would have never purchased Mosaic. Mosaic was a far better company to work for and was much more rewarding.
