We take pride in helping our employees achieve their personal, position, and earnings' goals, but we occasionally have employees thinking that he/she/they deserve more than we do. Without knowing more, I cannot confirm that this was the case with this particular past employee, but in general we certainly hope to minimize these different perspectives that can be mutually counterproductive.

Cons

No transparency around actual work hours, and sometimes communication discord between managers and their teams. Forcing people to work in office but also reducing in-office perks.
