Pros

It is a job, I guess. Beyond that, run away.

Cons

Pay is minimal. The cheaper you are available, the more likely they will hire you. Job descriptions are lies. Reporter positions will be listed for a single location but the position is then utilized to cover multiple newspapers. Claims of being "the best local news coverage" are laughable when press releases are used as front page stories without being altered.

Pros

Tools and Products. The company had an amazing number of products that you can sell to local businesses. A robust suite of digital marketing solutions.

Cons

Public perception is still that of a traditional newspaper company. Trying to gain new digital revenue streams often hampered by hanging onto remaining print advertisers.

Pros

Commitment to Local Newspapers in smaller markets. Great Senior Management.

Cons

Declining readership, Different Day-Different Focus. Does not pay well compared to other Media employers in the area.
