One of the worst place to work
Pros
1. Performance reviews are easy and just a formality. 2. Work-life balance is better than most places. 3. Salary is better especially at the Scientist and senior scientist level. This is because of retention issues.
Cons
1. Company runs on cookie-cutter model. Science takes a backseat, churning out projects is primary even at the cost of quality. 2. CSO was toxic. Numerous HR complaints about his behavior went un-noticed and no heed was given. He ultimately resigned to everyone's relief. Tells a lot about the HR department. 3. Lab technicians are mis-treated and over-worked. 4. The assignment of workload is skewed. Some people work 50 hour weeks. Some hardly work 20 hours. The senior members of the company have no interest in developing people and only care about protecting their interests. 5. This really is not a place for career development. Unless work life is secondary for you. This can be a stop-over to move to a better place. 5. There isn't an exit strategy if you decide to move. There is only one pharmaceutically company in that area. The other is thermo in Cincinnati which is far more toxic than this. Choose this place carefully. You will be stuck with nowhere else to go. Technical growth would be zero.
