Pros

Staffing business is fun and challenging. Some very dedicated employees at New York corporate headquarters, which are being closed soon.

Cons

Culture changed significantly for the worse when former MPS Group management was handed the reins in North America. No consistency in how people are paid regardless of position

Pros

I highly recommend this temporary agency if you are looking for work. They will put your foot in the right doors in the Portland, Oregon, USA metro area. I have worked with directly with several Adecco recruiters and their manager since 2012. Amazing friendly recruiting staff who pay attention to their skills inventory. They try to find a fit and put you to work whether it's an expert position or your first entry-level job. Recruiters will call you quickly when you apply or they spot an opening. This agency works harder than most agencies to ensure you have a shot at a job. This company gives everyone who wants to work a chance. Many employees of Adecco have told me their stories of how they searched a long time for work or lacked experience until they came to Adecco. It’s a great place for college graduates or those switching careers to build on-the-job experience. I worked with onsite Adecco supervisors for a big company since 2012. At this company I observed Adecco supervisors hiring and managing 250 to 400 temporary workers weekly. The supervisors are very kind people who really care a great deal about your happiness and fit within the temporary assignment. Supervisors are fair and reasonable when it comes to discipline. Supervisors will be your advocate to solve problems proactively if you need them. Adecco always pays on time and sets up direct deposit quickly.

Cons

Sometimes it's hard to tell what job you are applying for because they don't always e-mail job descriptions and prefer to tell you over the phone. Salaries offered can be low; don't be afraid to negotiate for more. The holiday pay is hard to get until you work 6 months non-stop because every holiday taken unpaid counts against you. The same problem applies to the service bonus to help you pay for your own vacation and sick pay; you must work 10 months with only 1 or 2 days off to achieve that bonus. Benefits do cost money, and medical insurance is no longer offered so be aware of that problem going in. They do offer a preventative plan; however that plan is not going to pay a cent if any illness is found.
