Detachment from upper level management and shop floor. Company averages 25%-35% profit margin and hands out 2%-3% merit increases that doesn't keep up with inflation. Not to mention the already depressed salary bands and hourly wages.

Not much room to grow in company. Management has no idea what is actually going on on the shop floor. "Staff" is too good to get heir boots dirty and go out on the floor, learn peoples names and socialize with the hourly employees. Most of the office folks don't actually do any work at all. Use old-school techniques to managing business... very top-down, militaristic style.
