Most have no technical background, and won't be able to help you if there's a problem. Managers also typically will fight to keep wages or raises low, and aren't willing to negotiate with your customer on your behalf. Personal and technical development are very poor, although they have a number of very basic classes you can take.

Pay is usually not comparable and you are usually the first to go in bad times.
