Pros

Friendly and easy to reach

Cons

Not a lot of holidays. Vacation is paid out after reaching a set number of hours, so you have to save it up yourself and take days off

Pros

They send a paycheck once a week

Cons

I was recruited for an assignment with a large automotive OEM. I was told it was a remote position with minimal in-office requirements, so I made the huge decision to relocate. I explicitly communicated this move far in advance to the Advantage Technical team, and at no point was I told that my relocation would pose an issue. Fast forward to my first week on the job, I find out that the “remote” role actually requires much more frequent office visits than I was led to believe. This was NOT what I signed up for. I had a meeting to discuss the issue, where I made it clear I was willing to adjust—whether through more travel or even relocating again—and they assured me that we would work something out. One day later, without warning or any further communication, my contract was abruptly terminated. No discussion, just a flat-out “your location is the problem” message. Apparently, my actual location was never considered a problem when I first agreed to the role, but now it was an excuse to cut me loose. 1. Misleading job descriptions: They made the role sound fully remote, with minimal office visits, and completely misrepresented the reality. 2. Abysmal communication and understanding of the industries they work in. 3. No reimbursement for relocation or travel: They made it clear that my move was my problem, and would not reimburse any relocation or travel expenses. 4. Equipment delays: I was told my laptop and necessary work tools would arrive before I started—this didn’t happen. I had to wait almost two weeks for my PC. 5. No respect for agreements: they agreed to explore solutions and give me time to adjust to the role’s demands. One day later, they terminated my contract. Based on this experience, I would never recommend them to anyone. They wasted my time, put me in an incredibly difficult position, and ended my contract with a poorly made excuse.
