Pros

Community hospital feel with expanded services and strong ambulatory presence. Feeling of ohana. Excellent care. This hospital is the only Baldrige award winning facility in the state, fostering a culture of high reliability and quality. Most employees have been with AHC for greater than 10 years and many over 30 years. This organization holds everyone accountable to quality standards and patient experience. Expect to work hard at maintaining what the organization has achieved, but extremely rewarding to become a part of its mission, success and history.

Cons

Like many health systems a lot has been centralized to their mainland headquarters. Promotions are difficult to secure as current employees are also competing with mainland counterparts within the system. Directors looking for advancement leave the organization in pursuit of career advancement opportunities as a result. Overall, it’s a wonderful institution with a strong presence in the community.
