Pros

Good employees who express care, compassion and exemplified the mission statement of the hospital

Cons

Poor management. They do not care about employees concerns and are more concerned about making the hospital money. Increased safety concerns, heavy new nurse burnout which makes for high employee turnover. Continued failing Gallup polls the last 4 years yet none of the employees dissatisfaction is addressed

Pros

There are workers who are for you and treat you as if you are part of their family, team player.

Cons

There and workers who can stab you in the back, such as directors, supervisors/coworkers, especially when you're out on family emergency leave to aid your ailing loved ones, that is my dad. Be care ful, file it carefully, always verify if your leave was approved. Poor communication among Supervisors and management team at Adventist Health.

AHCVN Pharmacy Department

Pros

Great pay and benefits. Most hospital staff were friendly, understanding, and/or professional. The food was above par most of the time.

Cons

Lots of politics and favoritism. No discipline enacted unless (1) someone from outside the department complains or (2) management takes it personal (where they resort to unprofessional, childish tactics to retaliate against you). Very few policies, protocols, and procedures on important things which led to confusion on a regular basis. Minimal effort to make sure everyone is on the same page, especially with important issues. Management seems to only care about patient safety and patient care whenever it is convenient (eg: a regulatory authority is visiting to conduct evaluations). On a related note, there is one particular pharmacy staff member who has proven to be very dangerous to patient safety and patient care on many occasions since Day 1, yet very little has been done about them. Management has very limited involvement in everyday pharmacy affairs, mainly due to the very limited physical presence in the pharmacy. Overall accountability for mistakes (by both regular staff and management) is below par.
