Pros
- People here make work enjoyable and rewarding! The company has strived to hire truly decent humans who are kind, funny, humble, and hardworking -- so there's no drama or stressful relationships with co-workers. People cheer you on and are quick to praise you for contributions and accomplishments both big and small. - Lot of opportunity to put "your stamp" on the company and its direction! Since AdvicePay is a young startup, you are given the freedom take the lead, try new things, and implement your own ideas. They'll also provide the additional training you want so that you can improve and grow. - Leadership at the company is big on helping you do what you LIKE to do. If ___ isn't your strong suit or it makes you miserable, they're keen to find solutions/other people to take it on. - The progressive view on flexible work arrangements is a major plus. There are weekly team meetings and it's super nice to connect with the others in person, but if there are days where you prefer or need to work remotely, you're supported! - Salaries are competitive, particularly for the local area. The extra benefits (health insurance, matching 401k, unlimited vacay) are awesome.
Cons
- Since it is a startup, you may be asked/given the opportunity to take on projects that don't fit strictly in your job description. That can be a pro in that it keeps things interesting, but for some it may not be their cup of tea. - There's not a ton of structure yet, so some situations are literally decide-as-you-go. If you're not used to that or need all processes laid out for you from the get-go, you may feel unsettled. To thrive you'll need to like to communicate and ask questions! - Since the team is still small, it feels hard to take time off if you don't have any backup. Thankfully with each new epic person who joins the team, the faster this con disappears!
