Toxic Culture in the U.S

Pros

Headquarter used to have good culture but North America is a disaster

Cons

More than 10 people left the commercial within 2-3months, many people have been with 3-5 different managers for less than 2-3 years, constant management changes, high turnover over rate, losing lots of talents due to mismanagement. New leadership hired externally are extremely territorial, they only care about their own interests. U.S new leadership is rewriting the global rules, trying to get their own people assigned (the people they like) to the deal others have been pursuing for a long time. The organization has a lot of office politics, lots of distractions making it hard to focus on the work itself. A lot of women/ black/ Asian were forced, or choose to leave the company. You have to be “liked” to get the right resources need to be successful. No transparent lead distributions/ event assignments process. High pressure cooker environment with unclear expectations, don’t judge employees performance by results/numbers, but on personal subjective opinions, while sales is a job evaluated by quantitative data, the performance review is very subjective. No promotional opportunities.

Pros

Most of us will be gone by the time the real damage is done, so it won't hurt us. Benefits are fair.

Cons

I created this account solely to warn anyone from coming to the Marketing department. We lost ALL of our talent recently. This place is running on last year's inertia, and it's slowing down. I worked for a direct competitor until recently, and as soon as my stock vests I'm out of here. I have never seen such a disorganized marketing function in my entire career. Sales is slightly better. The product is actually quite good, although expensive.

Pros

- A global diverse talented group of people - Very collaborative - Company paid lunch everyday - Hybrid work setup

Cons

- Severely lacking well qualified team leaders - The culture that made Adyen different and successful is rapidly deteriorating in the US market - Hiring a bunch of short sighted transactional minded ex Paypal people who were recently laid off - A lot of infighting - Way too many unnecessary "team" meetings
