Meh... I moved on after 10 years, not the company i first started working for.
Pros
Great benefits package many incentives to motivate workers A double edged sword, but work/life balance is preached, but from my perspective it was sort of empty words.... If i needed to do some adult tasks that didn't involve work... I was able to step away for the day and it wasn't an issue; however it seemed that i was always being asked to take on work that others just simply didn't want to do.
Cons
Where to begin...? There's a lot of them. I am leaving the company after 10 years of devotion in some of the most difficult tasks that no one should be subjected too. I reached a point where i just couldn't deal with it anymore and said enough was enough. For the past 8 years things were communal and the people were good to work with, lots of laughs, nothing too serious, it was great. But in the last couple years things got agenda based, People have started pushing their own strategies , things became too political and either you agreed with the majority or your life was made miserable. So i decided to leave. The workers are no longer motivated to fundamentally do their job, If they have to work together they complain all the time and make cheekish remarks about anything that you find joy in. It seems to be an unspoken rule to not be happy and instead cast health problems through the power of suggestion. There are some employees that simply function as bullies to try to make you quit then take credit for the ideas that were contributed by the person that they made quit. I don't think that is morally right. I was stressed out for every meeting i had to go to and i slowly began to hate my job...and it showed in EVERYTHING i did...my work, my speech patterns, my relationships both personal and work. EVERYTHING. If i stayed in this job any longer it was going to kill my career or worse. Also, I was paid $40k per year less than the avg rate for my role... I accepted a lower rate in the beginning on purpose because of my experience, but i then noticed that i was in a group that didn't know what they were doing and i was doing most of the work to correct and learn the environment. Upon leaving the company i was rushed to submit my resignation letter after an informal discussion with my manager, I made a mistake and submitted my date 5 days before a bonus period and wasn't allowed to change it, I wasn't able to use my PTO prior to leaving. My benefits were cut prematurely before my resignation date. When I complained to the manager about this he told me to call someone else...even though it wasn't my issue.
