      Employee centric growing company with great people

      Pros

      Since working here I have seen the company grow exponentially - and they are constantly hiring. They are continuously investing in their personnel and processes and are always willing to listen to to ideas on improvement. I have seen that management recognizes and rewards their employees and that they invest in their employees and as a result are able to retain them. They do this through a combination of competitive compensation packages, employee stock options, excellent healthcare and the little extra thank you's - like donuts for everyone to celebrate a great month! They want you to succeed and will give you all the tools necessary to make that happen. As a result, Aerotech seems to attract great people - and it is very easy to make friends and connections - which in turn enhances your work day and makes you a happier and better employee.

      Cons

      The company is growing very fast and as a result everyone is very busy with a lot of individuals working in silos. I think it is important to have more frequent (monthly?) meetings to get departments to feel more like a team - and to open the lines of communication to aid collaboration.

      Solid, well-run company with great people at all levels

      Pros

      Aerotech is a solid, well-managed company that focuses both on doing the right things and doing things right. They hire and develop top-notch talent in order to make the best products in the industry. The company is small enough that there are opportunities get to know people in lots of other departments, and management is close enough to every level from C-suite to production floor that they listen to and respond to issues at all levels. The benefits are good and the culture is very much engineering and technically focused.

      Cons

      The company is small enough that there are not always obvious opportunities for advancement within a given department, so progression in a career can be a challenge.

      Thank you for your review. Hopefully your concern regarding career opportunities has been addressed through Aerotech's use of job postings and internal employment applications. Given the nature of our business, on-site recreational and child care facilities aren't feasible but thank you for the suggestion.

      A decent place to make a career

      Pros

      You can't deny the benefits. The health insurance is good and the annual profit share is a real boost to your salary, as long as the company continues to make money. The HR department honestly seems like they are looking out for the employees. The work is challenging but varied enough to remain interesting.

      Cons

      There definitely is a cap on advancement that you will hit after a few years, and with that comes the annual just-above-cost-of-living-increase in wages every year. It definitely feels like the company wants to ensure they pay you as little as they can. During leaner years, the profit share is meagre, and in the worst of years, it barely makes up for the mandatory four-day workweeks, which serve only to make sure the company stays profitable. Technically speaking, the company has trouble breaking with tradition (I.e. backwards compatibility) which may affect the ability to not only develop but also sell future products. This also tends to quash creativity.
