I would like better insurance plans to be offered to employees. For a field employee like myself, I would like to see less frequency in meetings so that I can maximize my time spent out in the field. I would have loved to attend the Allstar Breakfast in Birmingham but was unable to do so because it was scheduled for the last day of the month, which isn’t a great time for anyone whether it’s the nurses needing to close charts, sales needing to get an extra referral or two with a same day admission to hit their goal, or intake being able to support sales with the end of the month “push.” I feel like some of the processes in place do need improvement, while some may not be needed at all. I would also like to see nurses who are also sales representatives to be able to perform bedside evaluations to help with discharge needs without having to pull clinical or admissions nurses away from their day-to-day. I used to be affiliated with one of Affinity’s smaller branches in Central Alabama, and would like to also note that their clinical/operations team really needed a lot more support and attention than they were receiving, to the point I considered leaving this role and Affinity. My boss was quick to offer me an option to stay with Affinity and still do what I love by placing me in a supported branch and I’m glad that was available at the time.
