Pros

You will gain valuable experience with removable prosthetics, BioHorizon implant system, and surgical procedures. Busy practice, which provides great learning experience. This being said, there is a lot of need and we see a lot of patients per day, therefore need to be great at multi-tasking, working quick and efficient, and be a quick learner. One of the assistants has been there a very long time, and is a great mentor and always willing to help. She is exceptional!

Cons

Fast paced, need to have efficiency and speed

Pros

Free soda, water and tea

Cons

Everything is micromanaged. Rules are changed everyday. Very high turnover rate because management doesn't know how to treat employees. Importance is placed on scheduling appointments, and not helping patients. Patients are not made a priority. The priority is getting new revenue for the offices, and making money for the practice owners.

You Get What You Pay For

Pros

It used to be just "Affordable Dentures" and it consisted of just extractions and fabrication of dentures. That's it. Extractions and dentures all day, every day. A dream job for someone who doesn't like root canals, crowns, fillings, or children. Creation of dentures, from start to finish, can take one day, with the exception of cast metal or valplast partial dentures.

Cons

You work for a corporation. You're also given a fancy title of "Practice Owner" but in reality it's more like "Associate Manager." Imagine a man in a suit coming to your office and they say to you, "Doctor, you're not bringing in enough money to this practice. Let me tell you how to bring in more money. Now that I have told you, here is your___________________." Now if he says "paycheck" guess what? You're not a true Practice Owner; you're just an employee like the receptionist and assistant. If he says "invoice for my services rendered to you," guess what? You are in fact a Practice Owner. Take the title they give you with a grain of salt. I had the experience of placing Mini Dental Implants in some patients' mouths. It's no wonder the implants are "affordable". Next time I place an implant in someone's mouth, it will be because I received very extensive training, possess advanced imaging technology, and have a surgical guide. A one or two day training course, a non digital panoramic image, and simply feeling on a patient's jawbone to see where and what angle to place an implant and hoping that all four or so implants are nearly parallel to each other, does not sound like good quality work at all. But again, there is a reason why they're "affordable." No wonder the dentures are "affordable" as well. The dentures may be created in a day but the quality is questionable, especially if the patient chooses the most affordable denture. The methods the company uses to create these dentures will often lead to complaints from patients; but hey, the materials used are super cheap so if you're a doctor, don't feel bad remaking another one, but you might have to stay past regular office hours to give them the remade one (better hope they don't complain about this one!), because after all, it's a denture-in-a-day place. Precision is heavily sacrificed for time, and I know that the lab technicians I worked with could have done much better work but they were pressed for time. I thank them for doing a great job with what little time they had. Finally, I am a former employee because the location I was at closed down. There were circumstances beyond my and my staff's control that led to this closing. I wasn't employed for even a year there, so I had no time to prove that I had this "initiative" they said I was lacking. I received a notice that it was closing down in a matter of weeks; meanwhile, all the patients received letters saying that it was closing down, but the letter made it seem that *I* was the one closing it down and not the CEO. I suppose this is how corporations work: a small number of people save their own butts while sacrificing the people who helped build them up.
