Pros

The board and C-level folks a nice enough Pay

Cons

Directors and middle management lie and cover up issues to make themselves look better, they don’t listen to thier employees and do not understand the majority of the products they are meant to own. They make poor decisions and promises because they are ignorant and uninformed. This company has had a massive turnover in the past few years and due to folks being overworked they have lost critical tribal knowledge about systems. This used to be a place of family culture, but now workers are forced into tiny cheap cubicles, forced and threatened to work every holiday, their customers aren’t happy and the employees aren’t happy.

Pros

Cannot think of any pros to work for this company.

Cons

Worst company ever. First let me start off saying, I would rather go back to a job where I was sexually harassed for 5 years than to ever for work this company again. AgFirst is one of the worst companies I’ve ever worked for. During my interview they describe one job and when I started the company, I was doing something completely different. During the interview they will inform you that the position they want you for coincides with your previous job to entrap you into the position. AgFirst is a Farm Credit Institution and the entire time I worked there nothing they did represented Ag in anyway or form. Not one employee knows anything about agriculture. I don’t support this at all because I believe if you work for the Farm Credit system, having a knowledge with agriculture will benefit you and your borrowers ensuring that the borrowers receive the best services they deserve. This is not AgFirst, they are a disgrace to the Farm Credit System. Lastly but not the least of cons of this company, management is completely unprofessional. They will work you like a mule and set unrealistic deadlines for everything. They expect you to work overtime and check your phone/answer your phone even when you are not at work and on the clock. The management here does not care for their employees at all. One of my managers even informed me that she didn’t care if anyone liked her because everyone is replaceable. All she cares about is that the job gets done. Management will talk and treat you like a child and to top it off they will underpay you for the job. Everything you say to management will go in one ear and out the other. Even going up the ladder of management to seek help, they will support each other before they will support their employees. If you leave, don’t worry about providing an exit interview, they don’t care. HR will not even reach out to you if you quit on the spot. You can try and reach out to HR for help with management but they will also support management before they support a lower position employee. Also, management will gladly steal your work and call it their own. They will also steal your personal items such as spirals with your notes in them and act like it wasn’t them that it “just disappeared”.

Pros

Decent benefits, really good people, if they stay long enough to get to know them.

Cons

REQUIRED to work extremely long hours and at least 6 days a week. Mandated minimum of 56 hours but having to work 80-90 hours a week. Most employees are offshore contractors. But they are constantly cutting work staff but the work load continues to grow. Management expects the remaining staff to do the work of 2 or 3 people but the pay doesn’t match the work load. There is little to no training on how to do new responsibilities as the person that did them before are no longer employed. Senior management is clueless. They set unrealistic goals and deadlines which employees are required to meet. If you don’t meet them you are gone. They preach about a strong work-life balance. I’m sure upper management may experience this but the workers definitely do not. This company used to be a great place to work until about 5 years ago when they got greedy. They don’t care about their employees, just looking out for themselves. They need to clean house and that needs to start at the top with the executives.
