      Agilent is OK, but not a career enhancer

      Pros

      The work is relatively easy and working environment is calm and quiet. For the most part, taking initiative is appreciated, except by bosses that don't appreciate that quality in their people.

      Cons

      Managers are not real managers -- completely unskilled at managing people. Evidently managerial training is nonexistent. If you are looking to work for a "Leader" in the true sense, this is the not company you will find them.

      Pros

      Employees are the soul of the company, great legacy, innovative company.

      Cons

      Management rules with fear of job loss unnecessarily, constant middle management turnover weakens perceptions, layoffs over even slightest dip in forecast results, drive to earn bonuses is employees' perception of management decisions

      Pros

      Agilent is a well known company with strong assets. The offer stock programs, and have full health benefits for full time employees. In the call center, there is the ability to have a stable job without much education.

      Cons

      Agilent dropped all educational benefits in 2010. In addition, Agilent plays way too much on the stock market valuations, as opposed to sound business practices. As an example, there is/was a couple that worked in the call center, and both of them have been laid off 3 times, only to be re-hired within the next year. The money they have made on their termination packages has bought them a second home.
