Pros

Pros: Excellent job for a first experience in multinational. Learn and see a lot. The tools to learn are there. Up to you how to use it. Colleagues are helpful and friendly. Good work-life balance. Managements leaves you alone as long as you achieve your targets.

Cons

Low salary. There is a fixed and commission based salary. The salary is a common shared target. However, as inside sales has the lowest volume of all the departments, selling more or less has very limited influence on your pay. E.g: Field sales sell for at least 50k$, inside sales for 5-10k$ max. ATTENTION; They do not tell you this during the hiring process! Too easy for a master level which results in limited development after the first year. Inside sales management has the lowest sales volume in the company. As a result, management has little to no influence on decision making in the company. Inside sales division goal is to generate sales volume without too many costs. Don't expect salary raise or big bonuses. IMPORTANT: There are three divisions: services, consumables and instruments. For consumables and services, you have your own accounts for which you are responsable. For instruments the accounts are in the hands of the field. If they don't want to collaborate, which in most cases they don't, you will have a hard time selling anything. CRM is hopelessly outdated. Field sales also don't update clients and opportunities so any data in it is worthless. When you don't reach your target, managements gives you a list based on the data in CRM to call. Taking the comments above into account the result of this is known but management can tell their boss they did something. Following up in this, there is a team that does prospection only to firms that are already customers. This team also doesn't update CRM which makes that there are multiple people calling the same firms over and over again.
