Pros

Aha! is a great place to work. I find it to be a genuinely caring and supportive environment. Everyone is friendly, involved, and helpful (which is rare these days). I also get to work with some of the smartest and most passionate people. As silly as it sounds, in my time at Aha! I've been most proud to build a React-based `<select>` tag replacement library which enables our users to quickly and easily select from thousands of different options, filter them, and pass those selections to Rails or other Javascript actions. Being responsible for everything from initial design to developer facing API, and having to consider issues such as ease of use, extensibility, performance, and interoperability with other 3rd party libraries, I felt that I "owned" the project. It's rewarding to see my coworkers use it daily and adapt it for uses that I had never envisioned when writing it. I am proud of what we are building as an engineering team and as a company.

Cons

Because you will work with some of the smartest and most passionate people, you continuously need to learn and grow. Otherwise, it is entirely possible you will start to worry that you might be left behind.

Pros

My career has been a fun ride ever since college, and I'll admit I was content in my previous job. But then I read a few blog posts written by the Aha! team and I wanted to learn more about the company and the people behind it. I saw that this rapidly growing company was obviously doing something different. The software was filling a real need for the product managers that I worked with, and it offered a fun and fresh design that was obviously built for the way people want to work. I could not pass up a chance to be part of something really meaningful. So, I applied to work on design and UX. My decision paid off. Working for Aha! has given me the opportunity to expand in new creative directions and I get to work with a great team of people who are also a lot of fun. My best career move yet.

Pros

Aha! is a great company for more reasons than is possible to list here -- but I will try to cover a few that I think are the most unique. More than anything else, I love working at Aha! because the focus is on sustainable growth -- we are building something lasting and the team does not take short cuts to get there. That is a rare trait in a world where companies seem to be driven towards short-term gains. There is lots of hard work, but the work is always aligned with the creation of lasting value for customers, employees, and the company. The company is self-funded, profitable, and the founders are experienced leaders who have a successful track record. And because we are profitable, all employees participate in a profit sharing program. That is truly unique for a fast growing software company in an era when most companies burn through cash and expect that investors will keep giving them more.

Cons

The team works really hard and it is not always easy to find people who want to be challenged and grow in their jobs. Hiring will need to be a top priority to keep up with the customer growth.
